Energy efficiency and environmental well-being
Radiant floor systems are back in vogue in recent years to increase sensitivity to energy conservation. Many believe that the radiation systems are a panacea for all ills and, conversely, that the radiators are outdated. The book seeks to clarify the issue by avoiding distortions that lead to project even when installing radiant systems is not the best solution. Radiant floor systems give the best when the insulation is poor, but with high thermal insulation the differences between the underfloor heating and radiators becomes minimal, even when you do not cancel it altogether. What is the best solution to choose then? Michele Vio, author and designer of high experience in this field, leads the reader (the designer, installer and end user), in a simple and intuitively easy to show that, in very isolated new buildings, the radiators supplied at low temperature provide a welfare and environmental benefits of energy equal to and often higher than the floor heating system.
The figures are derived from experiences carried out in one of the most sophisticated test chambers for antenna systems existing in Europe today: that of Rhoss - Irtec Codroipo (UD) Irsap Group, whose building has helped the author himself. Industrial designers, installers and end users with this text will understand the characteristics of the types of system they are choosing, learning to know its strengths and weaknesses, and decide if their choices are suited to their expectations.
