Description
The innovative iSERIES system, designed by Argoclima Italian laboratories to provide both winter heating and summer air conditioning, welcomes a new model to its product range.
The system is based on a new technological solution which works by connecting a single external unit to one or more internal units, allowing you to exploit the external unit’s maximum heating or cooling capacity.
After the initial AEI1G40 motor for mono applications and the AEI1G50 model for mono and dual systems, Argoclima has announced a new AWI1G65 external unit capable of connecting up to three internal units.
All of the internal units in the iSERIES system are capable of self-configuration in order to best adapt to the space where they are installed and the thermal charge to be balanced. In fact, the intelligent controller with which the units are equipped is capable of comparing the actual dimensions of the room with a pre-set mathematic model which classifies spaces according to only two parameters: “small room” or “large room”. Using the integrated communication bus, each machine transmits this information to the external iSERIES motor responsible for modulating the flow and volume of refrigeration, perfectly adapting the performance of each internal unit to the thermal charge to be balanced.
This particular function allows for intelligent energy distribution, without having to set the power for each single internal unit, considerably reducing the number of internal unit models required and simplifying the supply chain. Rendering the traditional range of 7, 9, 12, 18, or 24,000 BTU/h models outdated, the iSERIES system offers only three different “sizes” – Size A for a maximum thermal charge of 4kW; Size B for a maximum of 4 to 7kW; Size C for thermal charges of over 7 kW – each of which can adapt to “large/small room” dimensions.
Refrigeration flow, compressor and fan modulation is controlled by the sophisticated electronic 180° sinusoidal inverter installed in the external units, capable of controlling the couple of compressors at maximum efficiency during the entire 360° rotation of the drive shaft (Space Vector PWM 180° modulation) without interrupting the electric current to the permanent magnetic field around the synchronous motors.
With an energy efficiency rating that exceeds AA class parameters, iSERIES consumes just over 1 watt in standby and guarantees electromagnetic noise emissions from the control system that are 10% lower than European regulatory requirements.
The iSERIES system can work with an extremely wide range of external temperatures, from -32°C to over +50°C. When external temperatures go below zero, the microprocessor mounted on the external unit activates a special electric circuit in order to guarantee anti-ice protection for the compressor oil and avoid the formation of ice on the base of the external unit.
Furthermore, the external units are equipped with a “Domotics” function, enabling the unit to be turned on or off and malfunction alarms to be received by remote control.
The AEI1G40 is already optimised for receiving electric power from solar panels, an option which may also be requested on other models. This function, known as “PV power”, can be activated with the remote control included with the external unit, and allows you to optimise the thermal charge of the climatisation unit when directly connected to a company or domestic solar panel system.
The Argoclima iSERIES makes it easy to create an extremely versatile installation, choosing from numerous combinations including one or more of the compatible internal solutions already offered in the Argoclima catalogue. These include the iSERIES A8 wall mounted unit, available in satin white or glossy black; the iSERIES Reflexo wall mounted unit; the iSERIES A7 wall mounted unit and the iSERIES FC, an ultra-slim unit only 19 cm wide designed for floor or ceiling mounted systems. Lastly, the built-in iSERIES SD models, for customised false ceilings, and the AS models for standard 60x60 cm false ceilings are all part of the iSERIES ecosystem.
The future of the iSERIES will see the development of new configurations, new external and internal units and additional functions to allow for new integrated solutions for residential and office buildings. In fact, in 2011 the iSERIES will be considerably widening its multi-split capacities: each motor will be able to manage a maximum of eight internal units, while the system’s flexibility and ability to work to scale will allow for modifications to the basic configurations, extending them to for external units and as many as thirty-two internal units.
