Small wind turbines: interview to Alessandro Cascini, Minvento Srl
It 's more and more difficult to innovate, especially for research costs. Your company is focused on emerging technologies that will surely be further developed in the future. How do you see the spread and development of your products over the next 5 years?
«The Small Wind Turbines technology needs some important conditions for its spread. First of all: the wind. Wind perception of the site and therefore its potential energy is often misleading respect the need of a good wind field. There are several locations and sites where such systems can be found and will be applied.
Small wind turbines systems will give a significant contribution to future energy needs and promote the saving and the production of energy in distributed way. These systems allow the production of energy directly in the consumption site without the need to create new infrastructure».
Do you believe that new technologies can be released from energy and environment saving aspect?
«Unfortunately, in some cases there was a predominance of speculative aspects. The technology would combine the various aspects of environmental and energy saving, looking at these issues with a long-term view to create integration and structural actions that will be lasting and significant».
Why choose your solutions, for the orientation to the environment or even for a certain return on investment?
«We offer domestic systems. The choice of these applications must be guided by saving and environment respect and not for the certain investment return. In any case, the incentives give a good economic return as long as the site is suitable with good wind».
Can you tell us in advance some of any future developments in the emerging technologies sector?

«We are working to combine aesthetics, elegance, efficiency and security in these small turbines built primarily with multiple marine wood, Okumè, and aluminium. One of our projects is to realize a slightly bigger turbine».
